Doo does it again…. The current sleds are still amazing and I can’t see how the xp needs to be redone, however the rear suspension is one area of the sled business that is really advancing. With the pro ride / r motion for the flat landers this only makes sense to find a better way for mountain riders to enjoy!

Nifty idea, however I feel that since this tech is in it’s infancy, it’s going to cause other issues/problems ie, poor slde wear, idlers wheel failures, suspension component failures, track rubbing and failures, rails bending, bushings, etc. It’ll probably take a few years to work out the bugs before this new system will be problem free, however there must be some positives with it’s design.

It must work, else Skidoo wouldn’t have have brought it to market. Nice new innovation.

(Ski-Doo has a better, stronger, more reliable, more efficient motor in the Rotax 800 E-TEC than Polaris) Really? I agree as per the dyno sheets the E-tec has more HP but obviously less efficient clutching as the Polaris dominates the drag races and when it comes to high marking both sleds are so close you could say they’re equal. More efficient, again they are equal in fuel and oil consumption….more reliable, how can you actually say that!! Is there a test I haven’t been told about? If I was a betting man I’d say your nothing but a keyboard racer!

Polaris knows Ski-Doo will launch the 2013 Summit’s late February. So in a move to steal some thunder from the all new Ski-Doo, Polaris will have an early release launch for one model, the 2013 Polaris 800 Pro-RMK 155 on February 10, 2012!

im confused when you mention the steering on the 2012 m 800 Snow pro. They come with a horizontal type steering and telescopic post. The non-snow pro m800 has the vertical (traditional)type of steering and a non adjustable post. Which one has the easier steering? Especially when sidehilling and tree picking?

The ProClimb gets on top of the snow as well as the RMK. If you’re concerned about the 800 Polaris twin, go with the Arctic Cat. The engine is the same as the 10-11 800 twin.

Thanks for the great review warts and all.

How did you feel the 800 ProClimb chassis did in terms of getting on top of the snow versus the RMK?

For strictly technical riding and cut blocks, what would you buy?

It seems to me that the RMK just hops on top of the snow with very little effort.

My biggest concern with the RMK is the 800 engine reliability and longevity.

Very difficult decision……..
